Let me welcome you on my site. I'd like to explain shortly what is
this site all about.
I got the idea of an on-line comics full of ads about 6 years ago. But I couldn't
manage to finnish it as I had no time to really deal with it. Then few month ago
I saw Alex Tew's "million dollar homepage" and decided to restart
this project in a bit similar way as Alex did. Actually I
found his idea really brilliant as it was so simple. I like simple things :) however my idea is a little bit more complex. I hope this will not affect badly the popularity of it.
So, I'm working on an on-line comics which is full of ads. The ads are placed on the objects and characters of the comics' world. Their price is based on their size. I count their size in pixels as Alex did. 1 pixel costs 1 dollar but as I'm not working with regular square shaped areas I get sometimes funny numbers like 632 pixels for one area. In this cases I always round the number to hundreds (or fifteens) in the lower direction. So, an area of 632 pixel costs only 600 dollars and 687 pixel will cost 650 dollars.
The big difference between Alex's and my page is that my site uses a wide range of multimedia elements. Costumers buying over 1000 $ can have "rollover" sounds when the users' mouse hit their ads. Bigger ads like over 2000 $ can have animation in their "pop-up" info balloon. (Like a rotating logo) And some of the ads are even animated within the comics, like the TV screen ads. (These costs twice of their size in pixels. Like a 2000 pixel big animated ad costs 4 000 $ as it is a much more effective advertisement as simple, not moving one.
Few more words about the advantages of my advertisement system:
-DOUBLE SIZE FEATURE : I'm sure that all advertisers will like this. In this mode one
frame will be stretched to be double sized. This means that ads
will occopie four times more pixels. For example: an ad of
20*20 pixels (400 px) will be 40*40 pixel in size. That is
1600 pixels. Wow, not bad for
400 $. Visitors will like this as well , since
they can see the comics frames in a really big size :)
- The comics will have an interesting and very funny story line. A funny guy (called Alex :) ) is trying to make money
from the Internet, without doing too much work. You will see him upcoming with crazy but working ideas which could work but he will usually get into serious troubles by carrying them out. It will be worth to follow his story.
- There will be a maximum number of 50 ads on each frames what makes
one ad more noticeable to the users. The smallest ads will be usually a 16x16 pixel big for 200 dollars. I think 10x10 pixel ads are just too small to notice, specially if you use higher screen resolution. However if peoples demand for 10x10 pixel sized ads I will arrange to do some of them.
- The story will
continue until it generates interest (but at least for one
year). After achieving 3 million dollar
income I will continue the story by reusing the existing ads
(the at least 1000$ ones) again (for free) , and using a lot
of charity ads for free as well. Big
advertisers will like this, surelly.
I hope you will enjoy it.
